Amy is a senior AposTherapist and Clinical Director. Following the completion of degrees in Physiotherapy and Sport and Exercise Science, she worked within private practice treating a variety of musculoskeletal, orthopaedic and neurological disorders. Since becoming an AposTherapist, expert-led training has enabled Amy to significantly enhance her gait analysis skills and knowledge of biomechanics.
Upon graduating with a Master of Science in Physical Therapy from The City University of New York, Staten Island, Yaakov began his career in private practice in the New York area. The practice specialized in treating patients with chronic pain and sports rehabilitation, where it held monthly support groups for those suffering from chronic pain.
He subsequently worked as a traveling Physical Therapist in The San Francisco Bay area, exploring new communities and getting to know patients from a wide variety of cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. His clientele included a number of underprivileged, low-income and incarcerated patients.
After returning to his original home in New York, while continuing to work as a Physical Therapist, Yaakov had the opportunity to pursue my lifelong love of teaching as an adjunct professor of General Biology, and Anatomy & Physiology. Yaakov has always had a fascination with Biomechanics; so naturally, when he became aware of AposTherapy, he was immediately attracted to the company.
Outside of AposTherapy, Yaakov tries to spend as much time as possible amidst the great outdoors. He enjoys hiking and camping and is an avid swimmer.
Nina obtained her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and her Doctoral Degree in Physical Therapy from Hunter College. While in graduate school, Nina performed research in conjunction with the Hospital for Special Surgery. She has years of outpatient orthopedic experience treating a variety of musculoskeletal conditions across all age groups. Nina has successfully completed extensive continuing education courses in the areas of gait, orthopedic conditions and manual therapy techniques. Her clinical experience enables her to provide individualized patient care by emphasizing rehabilitation and neuromuscular re-education based on function, gait, and on patient education. She continues taking continuing education courses to develop her skills. In her spare time, she enjoys fishing, traveling, spending time with family, and analyzing gait.
